Patience. The single word droned through the young Finn’s head, even as irritation played its rumbling roll through his chest. But he checked the growl before it flared to full-fledged snarling, and called instead, “Jeb!”
Through the rough aspects of those tenor tones, deep affection for his fool of a twin rolled from Finn’s lips. He called again and was ignored in lieu of whatever creature had Jeb prancing and leaping along this dark, treacherous path like a new mooned pup. Affection was rapidly usurped with a good dose of temper.
“We’re dead, you dumbass nit!” The statement alone inspired as much fury in Finn as did his brother’s casual disregard of the fact. But Finn remembered death. The ripping sound of flesh and ligament to the teeth of another pack’s alpha. The throat wound had been deep, a mercy really, driving death on swift winds. But even that small comfort had been beset with torture. For Finn had fallen face to face with a torn and mangled Jeb. And the image of his twin’s once mischievous eyes turned dull and glassy, had been Finn’s last living account.
They’d awoken with injuries healed, mere feet from one another in a shadowy wood. Eager to explore, consequences insignificant, Jeb had pranced down a path and left Finn to follow as was his wont. And now Jeb was frolicking as if this place was a playground instead of…
Finn shivered. He had little use for words like heaven or hell. But if they were dead, then this was one or the other. And they needed to discover which, and fast.
A quick yelp had him rushing forward, annoyance disregarded in lieu of a possible threat to his twin. In horror, he watched Jeb stumble with forelegs scrambling on the rock strewn path. Finn leaped, jaws snapping. Too late! Jeb vanished over the edge of a concealed, black ravine.

Unfortunate. Infrared had seen the whole situation play out from the shadows, mindlessly grooming himself with his rough tongue. In his transformed state of a tiger his days were usually spent lazily lounging in the areas in which the sun would break through the trees. Otherwise, his wolf self could be found talking to himself. However, this was a special occaision. The beast had found two individuals, most assumtively siblings, mindlessly meandering their way through the lands. They seemed... Lost. Confused. Newcomers, most respectfully. Licking along his pink jowls a deep purr would emit from his throat affectionately as the event turned to chaos, the more carefree of the pair losing his footing only to fall into the mercy of a ravine.
They had just gotten here and not even ten minutes and they were already in trouble? Infrared laughed coldly to himself from the perch upon the tree, a short but twisted smile now forming upon his shortened face. One was intelligent enough to keep his wits about him as these were quite the odd lands. The other, well, Infrared couldn't say much for the other one. He had barely caught glimpse of the other before dissappearing into the ravine. Another laugh. Well, now, why not introduce himself to the now alone male? The dire seemed no harm in it, afterall, as he knew he was much larger and stronger than any newcomer venturing into these lands.
Not to mention more handsome, too.
Taking into consideration that it would frighten the little canine in this form, Infrared would begin the process of shifting back into a more recognizable shape. The sensation was similar to being pushed with equal force on both sides, something Infrared had gotten used to during these two seasons in Venial. It wasn't uncomfortable as bones melted away and formed new ones.. Well, they were the first few times he had attempted to execute the ability. Past problems aside, the now-wolf slid back down to earth.
The branch wasn't that high up, anyway.
"Hello stranger!" the primal beast would shout out, advancing upon the smaller animal. "You look like you've... Lost something."
OoC; I hope you don't mind if I join. These are one of my smaller posts, though, and I apologize for that. D: I originally meant to write a larger one. Muse died [again].

He registered the approach of another wolf… barely. Panic tightened its vise, clenching that ever squeezing band around his heart.
“Jeb!” he shouted, pushing the brambles aside to search the void with rolling eyes. Nothing. A thorn sliced his paw, and another his muzzle. Finn winced, but pressed onward. And nausea churned when he found he could discern no trace of the chasm’s bottom. Nor hear any sound save the timber of his voice echoing in reply.
He took a deep breath, tried to calm the raging inferno that was the spirit of his nature. And on that shaky inhalation came the other wolf’s scent, reminding Finn that he was sporting company. Normally, an intruder coming upon his back would answer for the insult with a taste of temper. But one last glance to the void had him reining that impulse back.
A stranger might know these lands.
All might have gone well, but the stranger’s next words kindled Finn’s fear, and lit that untamed fury anew.
“Real smart one, you are. Expert on the obvious, too,” he snarled, pushing back to face the wolf, and unintentionally leaving his blood to stain the thorns. “ ‘Course I damn well… lost something...” His tone mocked even as he spun. “So either bugger off or help me…”
The words lurch to strangle in his throat, the first look he got at the size of the stranger. Big. Big and business mean, Finn thought, flicking his eyes over the massive canines jutting visibly from the stranger’s mouth. He stepped back, lowered his head a fraction, as if to retract the insult of earlier. It was smart-mouthed comments like that, got his brother into so much trouble to begin with. And Finn hadn’t backed Jeb on countless occasions just to commit a similar folly now. “It’s nothing,” he said, calmer in tone if not in heart. “Not like the damn fool hasn’t been in worse digs than this. I’ll get him out.”
Besides, they were already dead. What else could happen?

"My my my... what a curt tongue you have." Came a silky honeyed voice from some distance away. A slim and lean she-wolf sidled forward in long slow strides, her amber-orange eyes half-closed as she regarded the young male with some contempt before giving an uninterested glance at the enthusiastic Infrared. A split second later his visage caught her eye again. Perhaps it was the self-confidence that radiated from his posture... or the gleaming fur and well-groomed appearance he had.
The coldness on her hard features softened a little as she regarded him this time for a longer period. Tilting her head a little she raised a brow as she moved into a sitting position, curling up her haunches and letting her tail rest upon her hind paws.
"You seem very at home here, is this your territory?" Kage questioned, her tone light and alluring.
Yet somehow, she felt as if something was different about him. He smelled so wild and... and... He smelled like some sort of cat. That's it. A cat. How? Were there wild cats around here? She was so unsure of the forest and the wild, having been brought up in the dark streets of the concrete jungle. She had only arrived a few nights ago and wandered the area frightened and alone, eating minimally and feeling a dead emptiness in her stomach. Here there were no cans to raid, cats to steal from or dogs to treat her to a meal. If she could hang around another wolf like him for a while, it would do her some good. Especially one as handsome as he was.
She had never seen another wolf before. She was a mixed breed, but still she retained most of her lupine features. The only visible feature she seemed to inherit from the tamed dog was that of the golden fur from the retriever breed. It blended into her dark-grey fur naturally, giving her a mixed silver-golden sheen if she were bathed in sunlight.
"You'll get who out?" She turned a mildly interested side glance at the deep ravine, quickly looking back at Infrared so that she could study his details.

Why, couldn't he get himself out? Cruel fate would only part them inevitably, leaving both to fend for their own skins. A careless individual would not last long, the misconception that they were truely in paradise and free from all death a ignorant mistake on any canine's part. They would all die one day, again. That much the albino did know about this Venial but chose not to voice it. They would find out by themselves eventually. Why spoil the fun?
In the meantime he could feel the new female's eyes on him, looking every contour line and muscle that would appear on his sleek coat. It was about time someone noticed his meticulous grooming! With yet another drawn out moment of licking his jowls, Infrared would turn to her and simply shake his head with closed eyes. Indeed he did not rule these lands. No one did as far as his knowledge went. He did enjoy the gesture, though. The female must've noticed something special about him, the strong will that fueled the shapeshifter.
But was she at all worthy of him? No.
"I am but a simple wanderer, ma'am. I rule nothing." he made clear, his articulate and at the same time sophisticated accent would assure. It would be then when Infrared would turn to meet the smaller male's gaze. "I was indeed about to inquire to this hot headed boy here whether or not he would like any help. This place is so... Cruel to newcomers, it seems. It was only the more unfortunate to be transferred here of all places. I've found this area especially diligent in making wolves like yourself dissappear. The longer you wait the tougher it is to find your sibling, you know, so if you want help by all means ask for it. Sometimes you can't pride yourself in simply thinking you can do everything by yourself, thinking you are the strongest among every lifeform here."
It was ironic how he spoke about pride. He was pride.
With a low chuckle the white one would look down after the ravine, his pink eyes narrowing in a futile attempt to locate this twin wolf. His expression would change several times before finally giving up, abnormally long tail swaying behind him with no immediate reason.
"Well, I can't find him, and I must say I do find my eyesight to be quite... Sharp. I'll give him another five or ten minutes until hope is completely lost. There's a good chance that by chance he's found some twig or root to hold on for the time being. Maybe even an outcrop in the ravine. You will see, though, that this land is not completely compliant to the rule of only one death," Infrared hinted, taking another glance down. He was only speaking the truth to the male, albeit cruel to suggest a turn a fate to seperate two siblings forever.
Infrared would seem to purr as his haunches succumbed to sitting. Wolfish whiskers twitching, he pondered what this distraught brother would choose. Risk his life saving his brother or ask for a stranger's help? A conundrum indeed. But that's how he enjoyed it, backing helpless animals into a corner before striking. Not that he had any intention of killing him or anything.

A brief glance was all Finn afforded the abrasive female. Honey, silk and sleek. More Jeb’s type than his, he thought. ‘Course, Jeb also went for short, plump, dirty, cute. Pretty much anything opposite the male sex.
Love for the jackass struck hard and center, so fast Finn was caught completely off-guard. And the growl that had begun in reaction to some female’s rebuke trickled to the whimper he was failing to suppress. Morosely, he stared down the ravine. Called out in what he knew would be vain.
He felt the male watching him, waiting. Those eyes! He’d never seen such a color on a wolf before. And he’s shared his fair count of interludes with many another pack. He’d stared a long time down the ravine, seeming to see more than he should have. Superior vision at the least, maybe something more. A useful tool.
But pride was a torch, burning slow, yet strong. His mouth opened, closed. But in the end, Finn hung his head. What was pride anyway, without his brother to rub it in? And every moment wasted in useless self-debate could be ticking with Jeb’s pain.
“Name’s Finn,” he all but whispered. And only to the male. “Jeb’s the fool, fell down… there. I could use…”
The words stuck. Then crawled reluctantly to the surface of his tongue.
“I could use some help, if you’re offering.” Amber eyes flicked once to the female. He didn’t care much about lowering his pride in front of her. And he didn’t care that while she barely paid him any mind, she practically purred over the white wolf. But it did piss him off that a female would be more hindrance than help in a physical pursuit. And she didn’t look like she was about to leave.
But what, after all, could he do? Finn didn’t hurt females. Unless it was necessary to protect his brother, though the thought of a female with the ability to do either sibling injury was laughable. He turned back to the male, eyes both direct and uncompromising.
“I pay my own debts, mind. You help me find my brother and I’ll owe you.” He would hate it, despised even the words. But he had to be clear on one thing. “I alone will owe you, understand? Jeb owes no one.”
And it might not be so bad, he thought. Not that he trusted the male or his offer. But he was desperate. It wouldn’t hurt to have an ally… he paused in retrospect, sniffed the female’s way… or two, in this land.
This land that breathed and walked in death.

Kage chuckled a little under her breath. This time not one of amusement of his predicament, but rather she just realized that her own sibling had the same fate. His remains hadn't been a pretty sight when the damned two-leg had tossed him out the window of the small cramped flat that had been her birthplace.
She shook her head sadly as she peered down at the depths of the ravine, amber eyes glancing it over quickly before she looked back up with half-closed lids. The memory of early childhood trauma still replayed in her mind. If the siblings were full-grown wolves, she probably would not have given them a second thought. But they were young. As young as she had been when she tok her steps to independence admist the conrete jungle ruled by ruthless packs of dogs. She knew this situation would keep nagging in her mind if she didn't do something about it.
"Well there has to be some way to get down there alive..."
She muttered under her breath. She wasn't willing to die for someone she didn't know, but heck. This was at least what some dogs in the human neighborhood did for each other. There had to be payback of some sort of course. But dogs who needed to stay alive sometimes banded together against the humans. In this case, Kage was also simply being polite. Plus, it would show to the meticulously white one that she wasn't an icicle really.
Trailing a paw over the edge of the ravine, she lowered herself down one step onto an uneven ledge. No, the gradient was too steep. She back-stepped almost immediately as a trail of small pebbles and sand rolled down and off into the gaping hole.
"I'll go along this way and you can go along the other way. Whoever finds a plausible way down can give a howl."
She suggested, making a turn so that the tip of her tail caught and slid past under Finn's lower jaw. She looked back at Finn, this time holding her gaze.
"So are you just going to stand there and keep yapping?"

Oh, Infrared wasn't sure he would be giving a howl per se. He was contemplating, daring himself to shift into secondary form and show these two what a rescue mission really looked like. Sure, he had never conducted one himself, but he was sure he could do it. As for the other female, well, her blatant caution would show Infrared her true colors. No, certainly not the female for him. He would rather court the male of this party before ever advancing on her, the sleek and smooth talking woman that she was.
The white wolf would shrug, barely acknowledging any word that had been spoken previous. Rising from his sitting position he would head the opposite way, seeming to be leaving the vicinity of the mixed breed and Finn. A mere facade it was, walking away, seeming not to give any concern upon this desperate scene.
The shifting process had begun. In mid-stride Infrared would begin to change, becoming larger and bulkier than any wolf ever was. It would appear to the couple as an odd sight of a dire hybrid forming into a unidentifiable albino feline with golden markings. Bones and muscles twisted and contracted, breaking off and reforming themselves a second later, the only part of the transformation that was readily heard from all parties. All in all everything would come to a halt a minute later though it appeared to take much longer. A longer tail and wider body would meet Finn and Kage doubled with the stripes, each tawny marking barely appearant against it's white background. The shapeshifter would then begin the process of turning around, his shortened face to a more feline appearance the most shocking of them all.
A trademark act of licking his jowls commenced followed by a voice, a voice barely holding the remnants of Infrared's past accent or articulation. No doubt they would be surprised, he thought, the thought of a canine turning into a feline nearly ridiculous to even think. The wolves were their mortal enemy, were they not? The irony of the situation could've made any human instantly confused.
"Now you must excuse me, my friends. I have pressing business to attend to." Infrared would purr, a smirk barely touching both sides of his face. "My only wish is that, Finn, I hope that was truely a promise. I get awfully angry when debts are not fufilled to their fullest extent."
The white, golden striped feline, barely a step beyond the ravine would peer down the seemingly endless formation. Having changed to a more acute eyesight the former-wolf would contemplate his decent. Only one outcrop in the chasm seemed able to hold a massive tiger like himself, a tiger that could easily tip the scale at four hundred pounds. His expression twisted as retractable claws gripped the ground under him. Should he go?
Primal instinct and Pride took over. Of course he could do it! He was the strongest of this lot, wasn't he? A snarl escaped from his lips as muscles tensed, a shallow pounce all that was needed to plunge him below.
It was a fluke that Infrared had caught hold of a legitimate platform. It shuddered under his weight, yes, but it held quite nicely as he would take yet another look around. Again, no sight of this wolf called Jeb. For once the silence would frighten him beyond all earthly reason.
He would press on, colorless talons struggling to dig into the hardened rock. Upon further examiniation it didn't seem to much like a vertical drop, thank the Lord, but rather a gradual and steep slope. It was that hope that made Infrared go deeper as the wolf couldn't completely fall to his doom so quickly.
"What a goddamned fool, falling into something as big as this."

Finn’s jaw fell agape while horror, shock and a morbid curiosity overtook him. The white one was melting, popping and merging parts that never existed on any creature he’d ever seen before. The young wolf took a step back, plopped down on his haunches aside the female and simply stared.
A cat was what it looked like. Big, striped and deadly. Instinct beckoned him to bare his canines and growl, so he did. But from such a squat position, the warning lost more than a tad of its zeal. Then the cat spoke and its meaning broke through Finn’s muddled mien, advocating pride in place of shock.
Of course, he would honor his debt! Was he not a wolf of his word? The cat leaped over the ledge before he could respond, soon swallowed by shadow. And only then did Finn shift his eyes to the female and whisper.
“Did you see that?” Slowly Finn got to his feet, albeit a bit unsteadily, and traipsed to the edge of the chasm with head lowered and nose searching. Cat, screamed his senses. And if he could smell the cat/wolf, should he not be able to smell his brother? Finn snarled his frustration. How many times was he expected to rescue Jeb’s reckless hide, anyway?
On the heels of the silent rebuke, came instant shame.
“Right then,” Finn said finally, amber eyes holding the female’s stare. “If he can get down there so can I. I’d appreciate a shout if you find a better way along the path, girl. But no female’s going to risk their life for me or mine.” And he had no intention of calling for her if a more amenable path came to him. “I’m going on.”
He didn’t wait for a response, but gave her his back and set off quickly. The line of brambles continued to conceal the chasm, impede his view. And since Finn was forced to push through them every dozen feet or so to check the terrain, it was understandable that every breath soon became a curse. For his face and neck were swimming in a myriad of shallow, stinging scratches. But his tenacity was to be rewarded with the discovery of a narrow incline that just might allow passage.
Finn took a breath, tested his weight. When it held, he brazenly pushed on. And had only a moment to consider that it was folly not to have called out, for who would know if he fell and snapped his neck. The incline became impossibly slick and steep, increasing the likelihood of just such an occurrence. He slipped and claws caught jutting roots to slow his descent. One snapped suddenly, and Finn’s heart practically beat through the dirt-strewn fur on his chest.
He fell, dropped more feet than he dared count, and landed on his side with a crack and thud. Hot pain, probably a rib broken. And certainly no air left in his heaving lungs. But he was alive. Alive and wet. With a grunt, Finn sought the source of the spray. And cocked his head at the small stream of water falling from a gaping tunnel in the wall.

Kage let out a gasp as she stared at the melding creature before her eyes. What was this? Some mutating thing that dissolved into the form of such a gargantuan cat. Totally unlike the felines she knew from the city and suburban jungles. Was he tiger or wolf? Or was he some sort of evil.
"Si. I have eyes." She snorted to the younger male before turning her back and trotting along the way parallel to the cliff's edge. She did not want to be involved with such a ghastly half-cat half-wolf creature. Who would even want to be tainted by the blood of a cat. The wailing yowling creatures that they were...
When they were out of sight and she was a distance away, she slowed down, gritting her teeth as she thought it over. Why should she risk her life to help a wolf-cat thing and a pair of unfortunate pups? Dogs died often in the city from abuse, disease or cannibalism, especially when there wasn't enough to go around.
She was about to turn and stride away when the sight of some odd rocky formation ahead caught her eyes. Moving closer warily, she sniffed along its edges. It was barely used by wolves, but it seemed many terrestrial creatures had passed over its edges. She looked down and soon realized why. Here the drop wasn't deep and the way down was simply filled with many sharp edges cut deep into the rocks. She simply had to make many jumps from boulder to boulder to make her way down. Even then, should she slip and fall, hitting the sharp edges of the rocks could easily snap her backbone into two.
"Baka..." She murmured. Fool. She scolded herself for being a 'softie' even as she made the first leap onto the flat of a lower rock, then balanced again for another leap to the side. She took aim, coiled her muscles, jumped, landed, refocus her bearings, took aim... over and over again, she slowly but surely made her way down wards. Should the pup's brother be alive, then taking slightly longer wasn't going to kill him now.
Finally she reached the bottom on the dusty pebble-laden ground. She jerked her head to the side as she sneezed suddenly. Argh... the dust was annoying. She blinked a few times to clear her sight before running along the flat ground, keeping a keen eye on the rocky surface that loomed above her, in case either one of the two slipped and sent a shower of rocks that could bury her in a rocky grave.
Ah.. now here was the smell of blood, water and the stench of the young wolf-cub.
"Oh you're alive?" She chuckled in a laughing tone as she rounded the bend of a huge rock and stopped short of moving further. His position, his blood... Something in her brain clicked and she darted forward, sniffing him with slight panic in her voice.
"Are you injured? Can you move?"

Though his promise had not yet been fufilled of finding the brother sibling to the wolf above this search was cerainly not something Infrared was ready to risk his life for. Though he was lithe and flexible enough venturing deeper and deeper into the ravine the subject of decent ledges to hold his immense weight would gradually wean. It would come to a point not even a wolf of decent size could pass through with little difficulty much less a completely white, giant feline.
With a deep sigh and a irritable exclamation close enough to a roar would be let loose. He had known deep in his heart that this mission would only end in inevitable disaster. Why did the foolish one have to be so daft to actually fall in this gaping hole? Even the most stupid, dirty wolves Infrared had usually laughed at were more intelligent than that.
Besides, his paws were getting dirty.
The feline would then begin the toiling journey up. His claws ached with primal determination as they reached the other legitimate holds. The scent of male wolf had faded to nonexistance, leaving the albino to think their mission of finding a breathing, unharmed body a hopeless one indeed. Why search for something that wasn't there? It would seem that Finn would have to deal with the unbearable guilt of unknowingly killing his assumtively younger brother.
This was no skin off of Infrared's back, of course. It had been a situation he had gotten himself into, though, and had no one to blame but himself. But how could he not resist showing his meticulously groomed coat and spectactular looks to an audience? It was a trap he fell in every time, unfortunately or otherwise. The prospects of 'greeting' other wolves in the only way he knew how to this realm were too great to pass up! To him it was, anyway, being one of often unbearable pride.
Claws gripping the edge of the ravine the striped beast would hoist himself up to solid ground. He had been stupid to walk in this tragedy without the proper questions, indeed, as he knew he couldn't simply get out of it either. He had made a unofficial promise to this wolf, Finn, that he would search for his brother. Infrared simply couldn't bear the thought of someone thinking low of him being as handsome as he was. "Hmph!" he mused, looking down the dark structure which he had just previously beared. He alone had been strong enough to make it down and up in record time, and not like he was going back down to rescue that eye-wandering female either. He had felt her eyes on his back as his transformed body slunk into darkness... A look of disgust, most certainly.
But things aren't always what they seemed to be, were they? The world would be mighty boring if they were. Infrared had thought his routine as a token of excitement. Even more so that he remained in this shape after resigning to laying down, continuing to groom himself with his newly aquired tongue. Would they be smart enough to see through this transparent and temporary form or be too disgusted to even look him in the eye?
He laughed to himself. A test. How ingenious of him to think up of such a plan at this time. He nearly burst out laughing at the thought.

The snarl was on his lips before Finn could pull it back. But he turned his head, wincing just a little at the ache, and groaned instead. Of all the rotten luck! The damn, conniving, wanderlust female had come upon him in this… lowering… state.
“I told you to shout, if you found a way down. Not come racing after me!” He growled, then mumbled a great many, colorful expletives exhibiting his thoughts on this particular female.
Finn struggled to his feet, shook off the stabbing in his ribs. And happened to glance at her face in a more than leisurely manner. Hell, if she didn’t look genuinely concerned. Great! Just great.
“I’m just a bit trussed up, is all,” he grumbled, somewhat softly. “No need to concern yourself.”
He paced a few steps to the stream beneath the waterfall, followed it for a while without bothering to see if she would follow. His heart thundered in tune with the increased pace of the stream, until both were surging dangerously.
“Christ, I hope Jeb didn’t fall in there,” he whispered, closing both eyes in dread. His vision was clouded in shades of crimson, anyway. From the bloody scratches covering his face. “Jackoff hates the water. Probably drown his sorry hide.”
And where was the other one, anyway. The cat/wolf oddity? Hadn’t he promised to help? Was Finn supposed to conduct a search with a mere female for reliability? He didn’t think the words female and reliability should run in the same train of thought.
Finn searched the rushing waters with wild eyes. What the hell would a cat do in the water anyway? Get him out? Finn stretched out with a torn paw to test the strength of the current.
If Jeb had fallen in here, he was long gone.
“How the hell am I supposed to find you now, brother?”

Kage growled low when she heard his mumbling. What a fool she was to even let her heart be concerned over a despicable cub as he.
"Trussed up like a turkey..."
Kage muttered under her breath as she stalked toward the stream to sniff at it. No good, the smell of the water was overpowering. If he did fall in they would not be able to locate him anyway. Inside her heart was still seething with anger at herself and the kid.
See what happens when you're nice to others? They don't give a bleedin' damn about kindness. It was always safer to take what you can from others and protect yourself... You should probably dump him and go find a guy who can appreciate your beauty and elegance... Leave the mutt here. That's probably what that tiger-wolf-monster did anyway...
"If he fell in the current might have pushed him to shallower banks where he might have been washed ashore... even if he doesn't survive, we might still find his body." She whispered to him, her voice cold.
Then she turned and looked aside, furrowing her brow and letting out a soft hiss.
Who am I kidding? I didn't even dare to search for my own brother. All he did was die a pulp of splattered blood and fur.
"In any case, we should start moving. Standing here isn't going to help anything."
Kage started walking along the side of the stream, following the flow of the current.
"You can walk can't you?"

Finn lost his breath as the vise clamped around his chest. Was it the rib? Surely there was at least one broken. But no, it was the callously intimated possibility of finding Jeb’s drowned corpse that squeezed the air from the young Finn’s lungs. He’d have liked to retaliate, inflict a pain to match his own on the heartless twit walking along the rampaging waters.
But she was pissed enough already.
No doubt he’d probably asked for the cold front being blown his way. He had little use and even less tolerance for the weaker sex. And it always showed in his manner. Hell, even Jeb fondly lectured him on the value of manners with a female. A little flattery would get you that tail, brother, he would laugh, before sauntering off to claim it himself.
Screw that! Someone wants flowers, they should sniff ‘em in a field. Not expect them in words. ‘Least, not this wolf’s words. Still, for whatever reason, she was helping him out. And without the other, he supposed he should try to keep a civil tongue.
Biting back the yelp that threatened in lieu of his sudden lunge forward, Finn grumbled,
“Didn’t mean to snap at you, girl.” Hell, that ought to be enough to soothe her pique. He was actually feeling rather pleased for making such an allowance for her sake. “Just don’t go thinking I’m gonna owe you like I would the white wolf, er cat,” he corrected, shaking his head. “Whatever.”
He tossed his head, stared hard at the water that it seemed his brother would simply have to appear beneath the zeal of his gaze alone.
“Why you helping me, anyway?”

"Ptah! That wolf-cat-monster probably wondered off already..." She snorted with a snarl before stopping and looking back.
Bleedin' 'ell! That monster wouldn't eat the wolf cub if it found him right?!
She kept the disturbing idea to herself as she rested her weight on her other side and raised a brow at him.
"Because, if I don't, who will? The rocks?"
Oh my shit, that sounds cheesy Kage. Get a grip on yourself will you? You need every cutting edge you got to get through with life in this world.
She bit back a retort when she saw his looks. He was pitiful enough already, not that she'd admit she pitied him of course. Her cold front still remained upon her face as she gazed at him thoughtfully.
"You are slow... So we have to go slowly then. It can't be helped."
She muttered, an obvious observation of course, but she made it sound like an accusation.
"Need to lean on me cubby?" She smirked. It would probably be faster... but the idea of her helping the young wolf, and the young wolf leaning his damned hide on her gleaming fur, wasn't altogether very attractive.
