Time and Seasons
To keep things easy, Venial has an aging/time system. First off, it's important to note that all creatures in Venial can live to be 25 years old. (Yes, I know this isn't the true lifespan of wolves and the like, but this is an afterlife. Who says aging has to be the same?)
Now, in Venial, one month real time equals 1 year game time. So the seasons are as follows:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 - Spring
8 9 10 11 12 13 14 - Summer
15 16 17 18 19 20 21 - Fall
22 23 24 25 26 27 28
29 30/31 - Winter
All breedings take place in Fall, between the 15th and 21st of each month, and Pups will be born in Spring, between the 1st and the 7th.
*Because quite a few roleplays/threads will last longer than a single week, I only request that all new threads must portray the current season.
Prey
The prey animals here are not as intelligent as the wolves. They are unable to communicate through speech, like the wolves can, and the wolves and prey cannot understand one another. This is NOT an afterlife for these animals. They were created here just as the trees and the terrain.
Elk: located in all forest and grassland terrain, not very common, difficult to bring down
White Tailed Deer: Located in all forested areas, common, moderatly easy to bring down with pack
Rabbits: Located in all forest, tundra, and grassland terrain, common, easy to bring down
Birds: There are various species of birds, including owls, songbirds, crows, and ptarmagin. Ptarmagin are considered 'prey' animals, and are located in forest, tundra and lower mountainous terrain, uncommon, easy to bring down
Big Horn Sheep: Located in mountainous areas, semi-common, moderatly easy to bring down
Antelope: Located in desert terrain, uncommon, moderatly easy to bring down
Fish: Located in any body of water, common, semi-difficult to catch
Pigs: Located in desert/savannah and jungle terrain, semi-common, easy to bring down
Other Animals
Insects, birds, small rodents, and small reptiles and amphibians are all present in Venial, but there are NO OTHER PREDATORS. None. Wolves (and the other canines allowed) are the only ones present here.
