Any questions concerning the site, plot, character creation, what-have-you? Ask them here, and Mem shall answer ^-^

What does "Venial" mean?
# minor: warranting only temporal punishment; "venial sin"
# excusable: easily excused or forgiven; "a venial error"
When does the roleplay start, IC-wise?
Hard to say, really, but I'll try to explain. The Lord is already in Venial, and has already made a name of himself. Only a few wolves have been sent to this afterlife prior to the beginning of the roleplay, as 'test subjects', and have become fearful of the Lord. New wolves are just, finally, being sent in. Therefore all wolves created, unless specifically stated to be one of the original 'test subjects' should have little knowledge of Venial. The most amount of time a New Wolf should have spent in Venial is 2 seasons.
Do the wolves remember their past lives?
The Test Subjects don't, but all others do, yes.
What are these 'test subjects'?
The wolves that were sent here before Venial allowed a steady stream of souls/dead wolves in. They've been in Venial for 5 years, living primarily alone. One of the rumors surrounding The Lord is that he's one of these test subjects.
Can we join as a cub?
If your wolf died as a cub, yes.
What if a whole family died?
You're welcome to join as a wolf with an entire pack/family. If you don't want to play all the members, or you run out of character slots, you can PM their stats to Mem and she'll put them up in the adoptable character section, OR you can reserve their names.
Can sin wolves go to the Ivory Land, and vice-versa?
Yes, so long as they don't get caught. The Lord's minions are the only exception to this rule.
Do the Lord's minions have to stay in His land?
No. They can go wherever they like so long as they have His permission. This includes Sin wolves to the Ivory lands and vice-versa.
Concerning The Lord, do the wolves know He'll come to them if they go to His land?
That's your choice, remember, wolves who have only been here a short time know very little about Venial and The Lord. This also depends on whether or not your wolf realizes they're in His land. Also, just because they're there, doesn't necessarily mean The Lord will come to them. He can be picky about his minions.
Do the wolves start out in Venial at the age they die?
Yes. Even if a wolf dies of old age (which is why wolves on Venial live to 25 rather than 8)
Where do wolves go when they die in Venial?
I'm sorry. I'm not programed to respond to that question.
If a wolf was an alpha/beta/what-have-you before dying, do they get to keep that rank?
No, all wolves that enter Venial start out as lone wolves.
If my wolf has a mate that dies with it, can they keep them?
Yes (you still need to register them though). If you don't want to play both wolves, you may put the other character up in the adoptable character section. Concerning mates, Mem may allow you to have some hand in approving applications for the character.
What if our wolf doesn't have a mate to start out with, but we have one in mind for them?
Hmm. I'm not too fond of letting you pick and choose your own mates. Send the mate's stats to Mem, and she'll decide whether or not to put them up on the Adoptable Character board.
What's all this knight in shining armor/damsel in distress/prince charming thing about?
Hints to what's going to happen further down the line with our plot. There's a few more hints hiding around the site, too, for you luffs to look for.
Does that mean the plot/storyline is already set-up?
Absolutley not! There's just a couple of definate ideas bubbling about, and things that are Going To Happen. We have a flexible plot here, so the character's actions are going to HEAVILY effect what's going on and what-not. The plot's more of a guideline or setting than anything.
Can a wolf start out with another power, other than the sin/virtue?
No! Powers must be gained through roleplay, contests, and other special events.
Are there any naming restrictions?
Yes and no. We'll let you name your wolf just about anything short of Fluffy-wuffums, but please make sure the name isn't already taken or reserved.
Why are all the Test Subjects gray wolves?
Gray wolves are the most common, mundane wolves, and they're easiest to work with.
Why are they called 'test subjects' anyway?
This is an artifical afterlife, remember? Someone had to test it out before putting it to use.
Do I have to join as a wolf who just came to Venial?
No. You may join as a wolf who has spent up to two seasons in Venial. No more than that.
Is there any proximity limitation for telepaths/mind readers/empaths/etc?
Yes. The character must either be in direct contact with that person, or no more than five feet away in order to use their power.
Why are these questions so disorginized?
Mem is lazy and can't think of a good way to divide them. If Tammy is reading this right now, you're free to come up with some sort of order for me X3
Zomg! Unique powers? This is like...X-Men wolves!
Why yes, yes it is.
Do all wolves go to Venial?
Those that die, yes. Those who are alive are still on earth. Also, wolves who have died prior to the opening of Venial are not in Venial.
In the Character Listing, does adoptable mean the character is not taken?
Yup. Sure does. Any character with 'adoptable' next to it can be found in the Adoptable Character section of the board. You can apply for them through that.
Venial has only been open 5 years (at time of asking this question), what age should out characters be?
For test wolves, at least 6 years. For the new wolves, it doesn't matter. They can be any age.
Does it matter if your character has the same sin/virtue as another?
Not at all! There will be several wolves with the same sin/virtue. There's no limit to that (yet, if everyone starts joining as a sin/malice, I might have to stop accepting those for a while, let the other sins and virtues catch up).
If the characters you play are siblings, will they have the same sin/virtue?
That's up to you. There's no rule stating family members MUST have the same sin/virtue. You can do whatever you want as far as this is concerned.
Continuing with the siblings, can one be a virtue and the other a sin?
Yup. You can have Sin/Neutral, Virtue/Neutral siblings as well. They don't have to be the same.
Is it possible to mate/challenge the Lord? What would happen if you beat him?
You can challenge him, if you like, but the chances of actually beating him are slim to none. If you do beat him, his land is technically yours, but you'll also have his Minions to contend with. As for mating...well, Five has been trying to become his mate since she became his minion. He seems rather...opposed to taking one, at the moment. You can still try, if you want, but I can't say you'll succeed.
You have to ask the owner's permission first before mating, right? What about in forced mating?
Yes, you do. Even with forced mating you must ask for permission OoC.
What happens if a female wolf dies while she's pregnant?
If the wolfess is already in Venial, her pups die with her. But if you're refering to a female who dies on Earth, and it sent to Venial, then she'll still be pregnant and will give birth to her pups in Spring.
